At Matrix, they believe that good is the enemy of great. So when they looked at their rower in 2012 and found that it was merely good, they went to work with the goal to create an unparalleled rowing experience. They knew that rowing had evolved in nearly 20 years since the launch of our original stationary rower, moving into multi-modality circuits, health club cardio floors, specialized rowing classes and elite athletic training facilities.

It was up to our design team — a mix of industrial designers, engineers and product specialists — to create a rower that served all of these different activities without compromise.

Very well built rower. Comfortable to use. Good resistance range. Do not like the console as it has a rechargeable battery system that needs to be charged by using the unit. If the battery is not charged the console will dim and brighten depending on the current voltage from the battery. Otherwise this is a very good rower.

I use it at gym, want to buy one

This machine helps me with my back and right knee, I have had surgeries on both. I row 2100 to 2500 meters at the gym and lost the fat behind my neck and my right knee bends further so much more and I started developing a narrower waist on my back. I want to buy one some day.

Five Star

I have owned three different rowers over the last 20 years. Not one was in the class of the matrix. It is the most comfortable, smoothest riding, It requires the least space. It so far appears to have the solidest construction. It is a total body exercise, strength building, and or aerobic. I recommend it !!!!!

Love it! Great for overall development.

I'm a personal trainer but I bought this for myself, I'm 64 and this machine is by far my favorite form of exercise. Outstanding equipment and movement . I'm a fast walker, about 5 miles a day. Now I'm doing the Matrix for 30 minutes a day. Love it! Great for overall development. Everyone comments on this machine, quiet and you can set the monitor to whatever you're comfortable with!

Great piece of equipment

I recently tried this rower at my local gym and had been searching for a place to buy my own. I came across Johnson Fitness in my search and was pleased to find out I had a location less than 10 minutes away from me. I really like this rower because it's user friendly. I enjoy that it is a quiet machine. There are different programs you can use while using the machine and it has a nice display so you can track your progress throughout your workout. The machine itself is also compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space especially when not in use which is a plus.

Solid machine but poor instructions

This machine is well built and the design is wonderful. It's a solid piece of equipment for the money. The resistance range is challenging enough for my entire family and it provides a great total body workout. My primary complaint is that the system arrives with ZERO instructions, and I mean ZERO. The Matrix website provides User Manuals for all of their equipment EXCEPT the rowing machine. So you receive parts and screws with literally NO instructions. Something that should have taken 20 minutes took me 2.5 hours to figure out. Oh, and make sure you have the appropriate tools to put it together. UNACCEPTABLE! I even looked on-line hoping for a YouTube video but no such luck. Would have given a higher rating if not for this headache. Just unprofessional. Matrix, ADD a manual online or provide instructions in the box for future purchasers please.
